Youth Engagement Academy
Youth Engagement Academy is a project funded by the European Union under programme European Youth Together, project gathers partners from Sweden, Romania, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Greece, France and North Macedonia
The project is designed in the form of a digital platform (http://www.YouthEngagementAcademy.eu) to offer a variety of skills-building activities for young people. Its purpose is to encourage their involvement in EU policy-making.
This platform will consist of a series of activities led by young people, including campaigns, training opportunities, and discussions with those responsible for European policy-making.
The project aims to foster youth critical thinking and critical analysis of populism by helping young people understand the new representative and participatory democracies and decision-making processes in the EU, ultimately increasing young people's participation in European procedures. Over a 24-month period, this approach will bring the EU's work closer to young people with fewer opportunities and create a space for dialogue between youth and decision-makers.
Through a set of Youth Participatory Activities, such as Team Building Activities, the project will facilitate dialogue between young people and decision-makers across Europe. A digital tool named "Youth Engagement Academy" will be developed and activated for this purpose. This tool will contain nine separate modules designed to engage and introduce young people to policy-making and reform procedures in the EU. These modules will clarify the framework, build specific policy-making skills, involve young people in Youth Policies formation procedures, and provide practical experience. The nine specific modules will undergo real-time testing. Each partner will be responsible for organizing and setting up one thematic testing workshop (local) in its country with 40-50 youth participants. The final stage will include the evaluation of the field testing and the further development of the Youth Engagement Academy.
A debate tool will also be integrated into the Youth Engagement Academy Platform to facilitate discussions. To promote the European Year of Youth 2022, an online campaign will take place after the platform's development, including the production of a Youth Magazine during the field testing phase.
